SSaMs mentioned in the Global Action on Men’s Health e-Bulletin

BOYS’ EDUCATION AND early school leaving is being addressed by a new European project with partners in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Czech Republic, Greece and Italy. The Sports Students as Mentors (SSaMs) programme will inform the development of an undergraduate module for sports science students which will provide them with knowledge and skills they can use, once they enter the sports workplace,  to work with boys and young men in schools or non-formal learning environments as mentors, supporting them in achieving their academic/vocational potential. The programme will also include a component on support for boys’ mental well-being. More information is available here and from GAMH member Paul Hopkins.
